In fact it pretty much revolves around one thing and one thing only: Tips.

I initially picked up this book thinking it was going to be a cross between Lauren Oliver's "Panic" and pretty much any Sarah Dessen novel. 

Boy. Was. I. Wrong. 

First off, the 'high stake' dares in this book consist of making out with random people, hooking up with random people and walking around with little to no clothing on until someone complains. Oooh scary! 

*Insert bored face here*

Secondly, while the setting of the so called 'high end' (read skeezy) Cafe was the perfect place for fan girl swoons and feels the only feelings I got were 'blah'. 

I didn't really like any of the characters so I didn't care who they did or didn't end up with. 

For me it was kind of a dud. I was excited to read it but ended up forcing myself to finish it.

Violet is still reeling from her sister's death and the only thing that keeps her going is counting down the days until graduation. 

Finch thinks about death everyday, whether or not today would be a good day to die or if maybe tomorrow would be better. 

The possibility of death brings them together, but will their relationship give them enough strength to continue living?

I love over hyped books. I love hearing about them, seeing their fan base grow and learning the different reasons why each person finds themselves obsessed with a certain book. 

This book was VERY hyped. I started hearing about it months before it's release date and after it was released the hype was magnified ten times. 

For some reason I put off picking it up for weeks and even after I bought it I put it at the bottom of my TBR. 

It just sounded too good. Too many people loved this book and I didn't want to read it and be disappointed... 

Sadly when I did pick up this book that's all I was: disappointed. 

It felt very bland and boring. I didn't connect with the characters and honestly if it hadn't of had SO MUCH hype I would've put it down half way through. But I kept telling myself it would get better. It had to get better. 

So I forced myself to finish it and let me tell you... No. Just no. 

I'm a big crier when it comes to books. I recently finished "Go Set A Watchman" and I bawled like a baby. 

This book had such a sad story, sad characters and sad situations and yet I didn't feel anything for them. 

It took me a week to finish it because every time I picked it up I found myself needing a nap... 

That being said...

If this book sounds like something you'd like PLEASE don't take my word for it. So many people have adored this book and I honestly feel like the odd man out. 

I keep thinking I need to try to reread it and see if maybe I just wasn't in the mood or if I missed something...

Mini Review of "A Little Something Different"

"A Little Something Different" is a love story told from everyone's point of view but the two people falling in love, from their creative writing teacher to the squirrel in the park, they all know that Lea and Gabe belong together, this is their story.

So with my last review I told you all I took four pages of notes, well with this book I had half a page of 'notes' and at the end of the book I realized the only thing I had written down were the characters names... 

Sadly I don't have a ton to say about this book. I had such high hopes but it really ended up letting me down and I found myself forcing myself to finish reading it. 

It wasn't the 14 different point of views that I didn't like, to be honest I actually didn't mind it, I adored the bench (sassy little thing) and the squirrel, it was Lea and Gabe. I don't know if I didn't feel a real connection with them because it wasn't told from their eyes or if it was simply the fact that they felt rather one dimensional. 

I didn't care at all what was going on in their lives or what was about to take place. Lea annoyed me and Gabe was so awkward it made it hard to read chapters with him mentioned. 

It's kind of sad that the two 'characters' I actually liked weren't even human. 

I'm on the fence about whether or not I'll be reading more from this author so we'll have to wait and see but for now I wouldn't reccomend this book.

Francis Wootton has just been diagnosed with cancer, while in the hospital receiving treatment he meets Amber, Amber is everything he wants to be, vivacious, sarcastic, lively. But she is also sick. Add in Francis's wise older brother, his slightly over protective mother and his cranky grandmother and you've got yourself somewhat of a story.

I gave this book three stars because I did finish it but truthfully I feel like three is a little high. 

As much as I was looking forward to reading this book I found it to be a rather large let down. 

The characters were all so flat and one dimensional and the story dragged on and on for chapters at a time without anything really happening. 

It lacked any real emotion and while I'm all for 'the feels' the only feeling I had while reading this book were total and complete boredom. 

Unfortunately I don't have anything else to say about this book, I obviously didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. To me it was one of those books you read and then a week later can't remember a single detail about it.

Mini ARC Review of "Who Is Mackie Spence?"

Jeremy has known Mackie all his life, but when Mackie survives a near drowning Jeremy notices strange things happening, things he can't put into words, let alone explain. 

He feels drawn to Mackie and finds himself falling in love with her and her new abilities. But Mackie's ex boyfriend isn't to fond of their new relationship and his possessiveness towards Mackie Spence has Jeremy worrying about what his next move will be. 

I was so close to DNF this book but something happened that drew me back in at the last second. 

I wasn't a fan of the mythological aspect of the story which is shocking to me because I love anything to do with mythology and Greek gods and goddess. To me it just wasn't executed well enough to keep me interested. I almost wish it had been left out completely. 

I found the relationship between Jeremy and Mackie weird, he goes on and on about how they've known each other since they were little but the back story was lacking any depth, it was as though he'd forgotten about her for the past ten years and only notices her when the story begins. And of course once he does notice her it's insta-love galore. 

This just wasn't a story for me.
