January Favorites!

Confessions time:

I spend FAR too much time on youtube! Beauty videos, plan with me's, book hauls! I love them all! Some of my favorite videos though are favorite videos and since I do not have the capabilities to make videos I thought I'd start blogging them instead!

So here are some of my favorite things I've used, discovered and loved this month!

First off beauty!

I've been using this beauty blender almost all month and I LOVE IT! You use it damp and apply your foundation with it. I use half the product I normally would with a brush and it lasts all day!

I've been in love with this nail polish this month! It's called "Virgin Snow" and its the perfect color for winter! I'm such a nail polish snob, I only use essie because its the only kind that lasts on my nails and this new color doesn't disappoint!

My sister put this in my Christmas stocking this year and I've used it everyday since December 25th! I have so many lotions from bath and body works that I never remember/have time to put on. This makes it so easy because I just leave it in the shower and put it on before I dry off. Not only is it super easy but it works! Keeps my skin feeling really soft and moisturized throughout the day!

Next up: TV Shows!

Arrow!!!!! Arrow, Arrow, Arrow! I can't even put into words how much I adore this show, it's characters and it's storylines. Arrow is thee online show I watch live (I hate commercials) because I'm deathly afraid of spoilers!

A close second is of course, The Flash! Barry Allen is my dream guy! Those eyes! That hair! His slightly geeky yet still VERY attractive personality. I could go on forever!

Speaking of cute guys and irresistible smiles, I had to throw in The Bachelor. While it isn't my all time favorite, I can't help but watch it! It's the perfect show to watch after a long Monday full of stress. Because lets me honest, the drama on that show makes your appreciate your normal, dramaless life!

And of course an honorable mention has to go to Pretty Little Liars, because, well because I said so!

I haven't watched many, if any movies this month so I'm just going to say that The Force Awakens was SO GOOD that it's a roll over favorite from December!

Music:

I listen to SO MUCH music each month but this month is was really easy for me to pick my top 3 songs!

The Summer Set has a new album coming out in April and they recently released a new single "Figure Me Out". I am addicted to this song! If you're a 90's kid who grew up listening to Blink and Simple Plan then you will LOVE this song!

On to one of the weirdest songs I've ever listened to. Twenty One Pilots "Stressed Out" is so strange it's good and I find it impossible to switch stations when I hear it on the radio.

And last but not least in the music category, Mr. Brantley Gilbert! His new single "Stone Cold Sober" is amazing! Every time it comes on the radio I HAVE to blast it as loud as humanly possible and scream the lyrics at the top of my lungs!

On to books!

I finished listening to Colleen Hoovers 'Slammed' earlier this month and I really enjoyed it. And by that I mean I found myself sobbing my eyes out at 3AM in the morning cursing Colleen's name. Either way, 5 stars! Especially the audio book! I really think I enjoyed it more than I would've had I just read the book.

Again with 'the books the brought me to tears'. Nicholas Sparks KILLS ME and while most of his books are 'boy and girl fall in love and then one tragically DIES' this book is more along the lines of his previous book "Safe Haven" which has more mystery than heartache. Definitely one of my favorites of his!

Last but NOT least!

I finished listening to the last book in the Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins! Again (what is WRONG with me?) I bawled like a baby at the end of this book! Such a good trilogy and I can't wait to read more from Wendy!

And that's all for my January Favorites!

Hope you liked it and feel free to leave your favorites for the month in the comment section so I can check that all out!

Until next time,
Ginger

Fangirl With Me! Arrow Season 4 Episode 1

Fangirling with Ginger

So today I realized that I haven't blogged in almost an entire month. Which is just sad. But to be honest I didn't feel like writing reviews or catching up on my cross posting... Or doing anything blog related at all. I'm hoping my unscheduled break was enough of a vacation.

While I haven't been reading a ton lately I have been loving that all my favorite fall tv shows are coming back.

One of my all time favorite shows is Arrow. And since season 4 started last night (with an incredible episode) I thought I'd post about it so we can all fan girl together.

We'll see how this goes, if I continue or not, but for now, enjoy my endless ramblings about Oliver Queens abs.

(Oh and this kind of goes without saying but SPOILERS AHEAD!)

So the episode starts with Oliver arriving home after a leisurely run. Felicity is trying, and failing horribly, at making breakfast.

When your OTP is making breakfast in their kitchen like a happy little domesticated couple you have to pause it just to smile!

Then of course we get to see the city and the people they left behind to live their perfect life.

Thea who is still trying to get people to call her the red arrow (even though that just means no left turn).

Diggle who has FINALLY gotten a disguise!

And Laurel (insert eye roll here) who wants to go get Oliver to save the city.

Ugh.

I know it has to happen but really? You couldn't give them just a little more time to themselves?!

Apparently there are 'ghosts' who have taken over the city and who are now taking out city officials.

Also Captain Lance made fun of the Flash so yeah... There's that.

Getting back to the good stuff:

It's revealed by new friends of Felicity and Ollie that Oliver has... Wait for it... A RING!

Pause for dramatic effect...

I can't even tell you how much fangirling happened during this episode.

But of course, an enagement happening during the first episode of the season would've been too much to ask for.

Because freaking Laurel and Thea show up and ruin the moment.

Of course Oliver can't turn down their plea for help so him and Felicity are headed back to Star City.

Then there are some flashbacks, an awkward exchange between Oliver and Diggle, and a revelation that Felicity hasn't been as truthful as Ollie thought.

Then... Oliver suits up.

They save the city (for the time being) from Damion Dark (creepy little dude) and Oliver officially becomes The Green Arrow by giving an EPIC speech about being the symbol of hope for the city.

Lance is an evil son of a bitch (although I think this might play a part in Sara's return?).

Oliver tells Felicity they can get a rug and the episode ends on a high note.

I wish.

Oliver hasn't smiled this much in the past 3 season. I LOVED seeing him 'argue' with Felicity because you could see him the entire time trying his hardest (and failing) to not smile.

The amount of PDA between the two of them in this episode was enough to make my poor little fangirl heart swell.

So of course, OF COURSE (!!!!) it had to end with a horrible, devastating, heartbreaking scene.

Six Months Later.

Oliver is standing over a freshly dug grave, Barry is saying he's sorry he couldn't make it to the funeral and Oliver is crying.

At this point I'm screaming at my televsion "DON'T BE FELICITY, PLEASE DON'T BE FELICITY. DON'T PUT THE RING ON THE GRAVE. PLEASE DON'T KILL HER!"

I'm honestly not crazy.

But a crazy person wouldn't admit to being crazy would they?

Lets just say if they kill off Oliver's true love I will need a major fan girl intervention...

I realize it's just a television show but... Oh goodness I won't be able to handle that.

To sum it all up it was (as always) an amazing episode. They once again outdid themselves and I'm thrilled that it's back for another season.

My favorite part was of course any and all scenes with Oliver and Felicity.

My least favorite part... Well I don't want to talk about it again so scroll up until you see the crying gif.

My favorite quote was by the woman in Oliver's flashback (I can't remember her name).

But she said " Stop trying to run from your inner darkness. Embrace it."

While this episode wasn't all kittens and rainbows it definitely had a lighter feel than previous episodes and I'm hoping that whatever happens leading up to the sixth month mark that Oliver and his 'team' can all embrace their inner darkness without letting it control them.

And that's all!

I hope you've enjoyed fangirling with me!

Let me know what you thought of the episode below and maybe I'll see you next week for episode 402.

Until next time,
Ginger
